Insulin Resistance, Elevated Blood Sugar, Pre-diabetes, & Diabetes

Elevated blood sugar markers, or concerns about insulin resistance are on the rise.

Peri-menopause and menopause, for instance, have major metabolic effects on the body. Many women suffer from rising cholesterol, blood pressure and/or blood sugar levels as a result of the hormonal changes at this time.

Insulin kicks in to support the body as oestradiol increases and progesterone lowers, which commonly results in stubborn abdominal weight gain. As time continues onward, if not addressed, insulin resistance continues.
More women are diagnosed with pre-diabetes and/or diabetes shortly after the completion of menopause, yet, clinical studies are showing that insulin resistance starting during peri-menopause could be a window of opportunity to prevent pre-diabetes or diabetes.

Our clinic looks at much smaller reference ranges, and we run deeper tests when it comes to insulin. We are looking for subtle variations in hormone levels, as well as symptoms that clue on that insulin may be rising.

Insulin resistance can be caused by bacteria that drives insulin resistance, metabolic changes in the body, or a genetic predisposition.
We find that by looking deeper into blood work and addressing insulin from a wholistic perspective, insulin levels can naturally drop and metabolic function can speed up.

We run a Metabolic Balancing Program with our patients suffering from blood sugar dysregulation. If something further is going on, like peri-menopause, menstrual cycle problems, or mood changes, we look much deeper either looking at bacteria markers, or looking at reproductive hormones, thyroid hormones, cholesterol and blood sure collectively to address the whole picture.

Insulin resistance is on the rise!  We run medically backed programs combined with naturopathic treatment and find our patients respond very well. At The Naturopathy Clinic, our team is very experienced in insulin resistance and would love to help you too!
